St. James The Apostle Church (Paete, laguna)

1580 - Juan de Palesencia, a Franciscan friar built in Paete.
1846 - stone church and it's convent were built.
1717 - Francisco De la Fuente made a stronger church.
1888 - destroyed by the earthquake.
1884 - the church was reconstructed by Rev. Pedro Galiano.
August 20, 1937 - it was destroyed again by the earthquake and rebuilt it again.

It was built during the early Spanish periods. all of the religious images found here were carved and painted by the residents in Paete long ago.


SAINT JAMES - Patron Saint in the church, famous town for it's woodcarver.
